1. Terrarium
The first and most important item you will need to purchase for your bearded dragon is a suitable terrarium or tank. Depending on the size of your dragon, you will need to choose a tank that is at least 40 gallons or larger. It should have enough space for your dragon to move around and bask comfortably. Make sure to also invest in a secure lid to prevent any escapes.
2. Substrate
Substrate refers to the bedding or flooring that lines the bottom of your bearded dragon’s tank. It is important to choose a substrate that is safe for your dragon and easy to clean. Some popular options include reptile carpet, newspaper, or non-adhesive shelf liner.
3. Lighting
Bearded dragons require both UVB and UVA light in order to stay healthy. UVB light helps them synthesize Vitamin D which is essential for proper calcium absorption, while UVA light mimics natural sunlight and promotes their overall well-being. 4. Heating
